Articulate '09 for Instructional Designers

Summer 2011| Wanda Mally| 2 Credits

Course Description

Introduction to one of the leading asynchronous e-learning industry-standard authorware programs, Articulate Studio '09. Students are given a high-level introduction into the capabilities of the four programs contained in the Studio suite including: Presenter, Engage, Quizmaker, and Video Encoder.

Reflections & Insights

In this brief 30-day elective course, I refined my existing skills using Articulate. Articulate Studio is a fairly widely-known program that operates as an add-in to Microsoft's PowerPoint platform. It enables anyone who is familiar with PowerPoint to quickly develop simple, asynchronous, online courses that may be published in a variety of formats to suit the client's distribution method (e.g. learning management system (LMS), Internet, CD, etc.). The program is relatively intuitive however, it does not meet Section 508 standards and provides minimal capabilities to circumvent the innate flaw.
